This past weekend, I (Laura) celebrated my birthday! It was a perfect day—starting with a workout, cheering on the USA women’s soccer team as they won gold, and wrapping it up with a pool party, BBQ prime rib, and the joy of being surrounded by my entire family. 🎉

Reflection is Key

Birthdays often lead me to reflect and find gratitude in the little things, and this year, my reflection centered around letting go of the idea of “normal.”

I have an idea in my head that “normal” is easy and comfortable. But the truth is, it isn’t always that way. In my 20s, I juggled at least two jobs to pay the bills and maintain a “normal” life, only to find myself unfulfilled and burned out.

Growing up, many of us were taught that the American Dream meant having a family and owning a home. But as I talk to more clients, I see that the pursuit of happiness has become more nuanced and personal.

The challenge many face today is letting go of the ideas that shaped our parents' generation and finding the courage to forge a new path in this ever-changing financial landscape.

The reality of today is that…

➡️ It’s “normal” to be in some sort of debt.

➡️ It’s “normal” to put a European or any vacation on a credit card.

➡️ It’s “normal” to live in a small apartment until your 30s.

➡️ It’s “normal” to work multiple jobs to support yourself and your family.

And now, more young professionals are seeking to escape the rat race, retire early, and live life on their own terms.

But here’s the thing: longing for the “good ole days” won’t give us the time and financial freedom we crave.

It’s time to let go of “normal.”

It’s time to forge a new path that burns slowly, allowing us to pour more time and money back into our metaphorical cups so we can enjoy life as it is, right now.

In the change management world, we often ask, “How can we get them ready, willing, and able to make the change?”

Our success depended on people being READY to change, WILLING to try something new, and ABLE to do things differently.

So today, we ask you the same: Are you ready, willing, and able to forge a new path financially and in your life?

If not, that’s okay! You’re not alone.

Forging a New Path

You need the MINDSET, CLARITY and FINANCIAL WISDOM to forge a new path and that’s why we created our Financial Fit Club. We wanted to build a community of goal-getters looking to redefine HOW we achieve financial freedom as a generation.

We’d love to hear from you—what “normal” are you ready to let go of? Reply to this email and share your thoughts with us. Let’s start this journey together!
